أعلن الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم تعيين أسطورة كرة القدم المصرية حسام حسن مديراً فنياً جديداً لمنتخب الفراعنة خلفا للمدرب الراحل البرتغالي روي فيتوريا.
وكان قد تعرض منتخب مصر لخروج مفاجئ من مسابقة كأس أمم أفريقيا المقامة في ساحل في دور ال16 على يد منتخب الكونغو الديمقراطية، مما أدى إلى رحيل فيتوريا.
وسيكون الظهور الأول للكابتن حسام حسن مع منتخب مصر خلال دورة ودية دولية ستقام في الإمارات من الفترة 22 حتى 26 مارس، وتضم الدورة منتخبات (تونس – كرواتيا – نيوزيلندا).
